Ruth has spent the last eight years working as a Complementary Therapist in the world of health and wellbeing. She has a love of anatomy which has fuelled her training in massage, providing treatments that help encourage the bodies natural ability to heal and move away from unhealthy habitual patterns. Seeing the effects of chronic pain on clients inspired her to pursue further reading into wellbeing.
While speaking with clients, it became clear that as well as needing help with managing their pain levels, many also struggled to find time to be able to rest or relax. Even if they did find the time, they did not know how to rest well. This was obviously a great need, and not one that could be met within a consultation. So, Ruth began to shift her focus with clients, helping them realise the value of rest in their own lives.
Ruth's work has enabled her to go into a range of different environments, from corporate offices, retreats and community centres, to speak on wellbeing, rest and meditation. Over the last year, she has had the privilege of working with the Clinical Psychology department in the NHS. She has spoken at conferences and facilitated team away days, teaching the principles of rest and how to create healthy boundaries between rest and work.
