At Rest For Life we are passionate about helping people find a healthy rhythm of work and rest that results in an energy for life that is sustainable. It may be that you are living with constant weariness or you may even feel you are on a downwards slope towards exhaustion. If so, it is possible to live differently, to be well rested. Rest is a skill, and you can learn the art of intentional rest so that you can recover, be refreshed, restored and re-energised.
Work and rest are part of a whole; it is easy to underestimate the difference it can make when we take rest seriously. Being well rested can increase your creativity and productivity not only at work but in all areas of your life as well as giving time and energy for the other things that give life meaning and significance
Discoveries in various fields including; psychology, neuroscience and sociology, have given a wealth of insight into the critical role that rest plays not only in our physical health but also our mental ability, our emotional well-being and in enabling inspiration. This research doesn’t just show the value of rest in general, but highlights how different kinds of rest interact with work. It is possible to learn how to recognise the areas; physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual where our work depletes us and discover how to be restored in each of those areas. Once we recognise the intimate relationship between work and rest, we can rediscover the role that rest can play in finding a healthy rhythm for our lives.
At Rest For Life we want to work with you to find the rhythm of rest that is right for you and the situation and season you are in right now. We would love to help you discover the ways in which your work (paid and unpaid) depletes you, the activities that are restful for you and perhaps most importantly, enable you to embed a new rhythm into your everyday life, so that you can live well rested and full of energy.
